Principle of liquid density meter


Density meter produced by Zhengzhou Nanbei Instrument Equipment Co., Ltd .: The density meter used in physical experiments is an instrument for measuring the density of liquids. It is manufactured and operated according to the principle that the buoyancy of an object floating in a liquid is equal to gravity. The density meter is a sealed glass tube with uneven thickness. The lower part of the tube is filled with a small amount of lead shot or mercury with higher density. When in use, put the density meter vertically into the liquid to be measured.
 
After stabilizing, read the density of the liquid to be measured from its scale.
There are two types of density meters in common use. One is the density of liquid that has a density greater than that of pure water, called a weight meter;
 
Principle of density meter:
The gravity of an object pulls the object toward the ground, but if the object is placed in a liquid, a force called buoyancy will produce a force in the opposite direction.
The amount of buoyancy is equal to the weight of the liquid replaced by the object, or the weight of the drained water.
The density meter floats or sinks according to changes in the balance of gravity and buoyancy.
A well-functioning densitometer can only float, so the force of buoyancy pushing up is slightly larger than the force of gravity pulling down.
Because the volume of the densitometer has not changed, the volume of drained water is the same.
 
However, it becomes heavier because it contains more water.
When gravity is greater than buoyancy, the density meter will sink.
The weight of the density meter is less than the weight of the same volume of water, so the density meter floats again.
The reading of the density meter is from lower to upper. When it is immersed in different liquids, the volume will not change and the indication will change.
